DESCRIPTION: There DELICIOUS earrings have been crafted in 9ct yellow gold. The earrings are a reproduction and have been modelled in the "Suffragette" colours to replicate the original suffragette jewellery. The earrings have a nice sized shephard's hook at the top that is linked to a gold setting with 2 x marquise cut natural Peridot that are each set in bezel settings, the bottom of the earring is set with a large pear cut Natural Amethyst that is set in a 3 claw setting, the stones are separated by a middle gold link that has a drilled faux pearl. Gorgeous solid earrings that are well made and have a lovely weight.

Suffragette Jewellery's primary purpose was to demonstrate its wearer's allegiance to the cause of women's suffrage in the UK. Jewellery was a key mechanism used by British suffragists to identify themselves. The suffragists were members of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (NUWSS) and were lead by Millicent Garrett Fawcett during the height of the suffrage movement, 1890 – 1919. They campaigned for votes for middle-class, property-owning women and believed in peaceful protest.🟢💜
