DESCRIPTION: This gorgeous piece is an original sterling silver Edwardian Double albert chain. Made in England the Chain is hallmarked with beautifully crisp Chester Hallmarks and assay dated 1912. The Chester Assay office closed down in August of 1962 which makes any bearing Chester hallmarks highly sought after and quite collectable. The Albert chain is a beautiful graduated curb link chain which each link bearing a lion passant stamp with one of the larger links bearing the makers mark, Chester crest and Assay date letter. The T- bar is original to the piece bearing the same makers mark and assay date letter. The Dog clips as with many of these pieces are not original to the chain and have been put on at some point though both of the same era and in lovely working order. 

The Fob Medal dates earlier than the chain and is a superb piece on its own, a wonderfully large medal with a Rose gold gilded Front cartouche that is engraved and dated 1904. As with many of these Albert chains the pieces have been added at different times making them so unique with many stories to tell.

Albert chains never date and are a wonderful statement piece to wear. This is a particularly lovely one with a wonderful large and beautiful fob medal.🌹🌹

In excellent Edwardian condition with patina can be polished.🌹🌹

Length of chain from end to end is 44cms. Plus T-bar drop 3.50cms.
