DESCRIPTION: An absolutely beautiful thimble that is a fantastic collector's piece.  The thimble was made by Ketchum McDougall in the 1880's and is an American piece. This particular thimble features in the book "American Silver Thimbles" by Gay Ann Rogers and in the book "The Story of the Thimble" by Bridget McConnel. It is crafted in Sterling silver and has an applied band of 14ct yellow gold to the base in an enchanting scroll design and a blank cartouche with no engraving. The thimble is in superb condition with no dents or holes, the inner apex has the wonderful crisp makers mark and the base with clear hallmarks. The piece has a lovely patina, we like to leave this but can be polished. 

A beautiful piece for the collector of Antique curiosities or Antique sewing implements. This would also make a gorgeous gift.♥️♥️
