DESCRIPTION: A delightful and rare locket crafted in 9ct yellow gold. Made by leading Melbourne jewellery manufacturers G & E Rodd under their registered trademark "Apex". From the 1920's to the late 1940's, Rodd used their trademark "Apex" on jewellery and silverware to show the quality and attention to detail of their products. We believe this stunning little locket is circa 1920's. Round in shape and made in two separate sections (front and back) the front has a beautiful etched detail to one side and is polished gold on the other, this could be engraved if the wearer decides. The back portion has a polished gold finish with lovely crisp Apex and 9ct hallmarks. The inside of the locket has the original frame (frame made in a gilded base metal typical of the era to ensure strength) and cover, the two parts of the locked fit together beautifully and tight and ate joined with a petite jump ring.

A beautiful Australian Antique piece that is in wonderful condition. This style of locket by Apex is a rare find and would be a wonderful edition to an Australian Antique jewellery collection. ⚜️⚜️
