DESCRIPTION: This GORGEOUS pendant has been crafted in 9ct yellow gold ( warm rosey hue to parts) the chain is crafted in solid 9ct yellow gold. The pendant is an original Edwardian piece circa 1901 to 1910. A heart shaped with beautiful gold work to the outer and five "fleur-de-lis " type points that are grain set with alternating split seed pearls and round cut pink/red paste stones ( antique glass). The centre of the heart reads "The Lord watch between me and thee when we are absent from one another" with "MIZPAH " written through the center. We don't often see MIZPAH in pendant usually brooch and rings so this is a real treat. The pendant comes on a solid and sturdy cable link chain in 9ct gold.

Mizpah jewellery is still worn as a token of love or friendship and became popular during the Victorian era with an emotive story behind it.

In the Book of Genesis, Jacob and Laban are given the wisdom to reconcile their differences, and live peacefully. As a symbol of their trust, they built a tower, a mizpah. Before parting, Laban salutes Jacob: 'The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent, one from another'.

This is a truly beautiful pendant. MIZPAH are a favourite of mine and something I love to collect as I love the romance and meaning of friendship behind each and everyone of them. This will look fab on its own or layered with gold chains for a very on trend look.❤❤
