DESCRIPTION: This is an absolutely divine antique piece that is in Sterling Silver. Let's start with the superb Edwardian Sterling Book Chain Collier of oval domed shaped links with an enchanting engraved foliate detail and finer pierced lozenge shaped links joined with a ring clasp and a bulldog clip (this has been fitted in later years). Attached is an incredible large Sterling Silver locket made by David and Lionel Spears of Birmingham and is assay dated 1881. The locket is oval in shape with a central recessed foliate engraved panel and the outer has a raised scalloped edge and has a large bail. The interior of the locket has the original glass and chapter frames to each side and also has a glorious Victorian striped fabric. We have left it as we found it to keep its beauty and mystery.

This can be worn different ways with the ring clasp and dog clip giving the wearer options.

The piece has a lovely patina and we have chosen to leave as is. Lockets always have a pattina to the inside created from the warmth of the chest, so we never remove its history. Could be cleaned with a silver cloth to make it shine but we will leave that to the buyer depending on the look they want. This is an exquisite piece that any collector will love. To find a locket of this age that is in such superb condition is rare. ⚜️⚜️⚜️
