DESCRIPTION: This GORGEOUS locket has been crafted in 9ct yellow gold front and back. 9ct gold front and back means that what you see on the outside is solid 9ct gold, and inside the structure is gilded base metal. This is to give the piece extra strength when opening and closing as gold is soft and wears. This was very common in the height of the Edwardian period when lockets were at the height of fashion.

A very beautiful vintage locket circa 1920's- 1930's and is a lovely sized piece. The locket is round in shape and has beautifully etched detail to the front with a polished gold back. The interior of the locket has one original frame in place. The locket has some patina on the inside of the locket and we have left original as this is generally created from the warmth of chest/heart and is part of the lockets story and life. The locket snaps closed nicely and remains closed securely.
