DESCRIPTION: This is an absolutely incredible ring! A Victorian ring boasting beautiful crisp hallmarks, made in Birmingham England and assay dated 1863, this is a glorious and very heavy Keeper ring. In the Victorian era the keeper ring is said to have represented the idea that the receiver was worth βkeeping.β It was considered a kind of pre-engagement or betrothal ring and was presented a year before the official engagement. This ring is an outstanding example and without a doubt the nicest I've seen. Weighing in at a whopping 11.30grams this ring will live on for at least another 100 years! Predominantly rose gold with yellow gold detail to the front, she is wonderfully wide at 12.30mm in the front with a glorious, plaited design in the gold and 3 rows of rose gold studs, wide rose gold detailed shoulders merging into an incredibly solid rose gold shank.
A superb piece of history perfect for the lover of romance and all things antique. A great collector's piece with beautiful crisp hallmarks. Substantial on the hand this would suit Male or Female. βοΈβοΈ
