This WONDERFUL ring has been crafted in solid 9ct Rose gold. An antique ring made in Chester UK with full Chester hallmarks and assay dated 1911. The Chester Assay office closed down in 1962 so anything bearing these hallmarks is now very collectable. 

A wonderful example of an early MIZPAH ring with a lovely wide band that is the same width front and back. With "MIZPAH" in raised lettering across the front. The ring is a wonderful width at 6mm front and back.

The ring is just beautiful on its own and teams beautifully with other bands. A wonderful example of an early MIZPAH piece.🌹

MIZPAH MEANING 🌹

Mizpah jewellery is still worn as a token of love or friendship and became popular during the Victorian era with an emotive story behind it.

In the Book of Genesis, Jacob and Laban are given the wisdom to reconcile their differences, and live peacefully. As a symbol of their trust, they built a tower (referred to as the watch tower), a mizpah. Before parting, Laban salutes Jacob: 'The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent, one from another'.
