DESCRIPTION: This is a wonderful ring! Definitely a rare treasure the first of this style we have seen made by Australian jeweller G & E Rodd. The ring is crafted in 9ct rose gold (a soft pale pink gold) and was made by leading Melbourne jewellery manufacturers G & E Rodd under their registered trademark "Apex". From the 1920's to the late 1940's, Rodd used their trademark "Apex" on jewellery and silverware to show the quality and attention to detail of their products. In 1948 the mark was replaced with "Rodd". This ring is hallmarked "Apex" and is early 1920's. The ring is fashioned with a large oval shaped locket with a hinged top and a polished gold finish, the locket /compartment snaps closed snug and tight to ensure your treasure is kept safe, flanked each side by decorative bifurcated shoulders and merging into a very solid half round band.

We have never seen another like it made by G.E Rodd so she is rare and in fantastic condition. The blank face of the ring could be engraved with an initial to personalise, the top compartment could hold photos or a note or something special to you. A wonderful example of 1920s Australian jewellery. ⚜️⚜️
